I’ve grown a lot the last six months
since I was only two.
So now that I am two and a half,
there’s much more I can do.
I’ve learned to sing, I’ve learned to jump,
and now I take ballet.
And every day I see some friends
when I go out to play.
I know my colors. I know my shapes.
I know my address too.
I love to watch my TV shows
like Dora and Caillou.
My puzzle with the fifty states
Is my favorite one to do.
I also like the princess ones
and the fire truck too.
I learned how to play hide and seek
and games like Candyland.
And now I’m learning harder things
like which is my right hand.
At bedtime when it’s time to sleep,
I snuggle with my friends.
Then Daddy reads a book to me.
which I hope never ends.
Then Mommy comes to tuck me in
and tell me of my day.
I ask a million questions,
so maybe she will stay.
I like to cook and stir and bake,
but I don’t like loud noise.
And when my friends come over
I’m great at sharing toys.
I got a swing set, big and new,
with a tire swing and slide.
It’s got a baby bucket swing
and big-girl swing to ride.
I know my address on East Road.
I know my birthday too.
I love the color purple
And hot pink on my shoes.
I eat my food all by myself.
I use a level spoon.
The sun is way too bright for me
And so I like the moon.
I love to watch my DVD’s
when riding in the car,
especially to Saint Louis
which is very, very far.
One big change in the last six months
is how I learned to talk.
And now I run and gallop and jump
When I used to only walk.
The best thing in the last six months
Is someone I see daily.
She’s my brand new little sister
The marvelous, sweet Haley!
I try to take good care of her.
I bring her toys and diapers.
And when she needs her diaper changed
I bring the cloths to wipe her.
I always use the potty now
and then I get a treat.
My family agrees that I
am very, very sweet.
My birthday’s coming up in March.
It will be fun to see
what change will happen by the time
that I am turning three.

I really love this poem! Thanks, Grandma Jewie!
Yeah, Jewie. You really captured a lot that pictures can't always do as well.
